Terms and Conditions
By applying and participating on a Discover Detecting Experience Day, you are required and agree to the following conditions as regards finds of any artefacts. If any of the artefacts are deemed by the organisers of Discover Detecting to be of great importance then they can be taken into the local Finds Liaison Officer (FLO) where experts will ID and record the item giving you a greater depth of information. They will be returned to the finder on their return from the FLO.
This application can take between four to 12 months or so to be assessed.
Any find that is subject to reporting under the Treasure Act 1996 will be declared to the relevant authorities by organisers of Discover Detecting. The finder, however, will be entitled to receive a reward for full market value to be split with the land owner.
We ask all participants on our experience day to follow a few simple rules. Please make sure that you fill all holes you dig. Replace pasture plugs green side up and heeled in. Remove waste as you dig it. Do not re-bury your trash or leave it on the surface, especially on ploughed land which can damage farm machinery. Be sure to stay within the agreed search area and fields, and do not trespass onto other fields or farms.
